 New toThis site. Looking for shipmates, 1972-1974 Served onboard the Sampson 1972-1974. Assigned to R-Divison,IC Gang. Home port Athens,Greece. Came on board ICFN, left IC2. It,s been awhile since I have had contact with any ship mates. Use to be from Hollister, California. Now living in Caldwell, Ohio.

Re: New toThis site. Looking for shipmates, 1972-1974 I came onboard in 1974 while we were in the Scaramanga ship yard and was volunteered to the flange cover detail from the Sonar Gang. I was an STG3. I had the nickname of Jethro because my last name is Bodin. I mostly hung out with STG3 Bart Trickle and a few others from the ASW Gang. We had an awsome ASROC handling team. You folks gave us Gyro inputs, phones and communications with the rest of the ship. My favorite comm on the MC was always IC - SONAR! The #1 Answer we always wanted to give you back was So do I. Our telephone could talk underwater!!!!! Old good days!
